Den meetings this Wednesday. We will work on our den flags and start preparing for our upcoming walks/hikes. Bring your handbooks, if you have them.

PACK DUES

Pack dues are $100 per scout for a full year. Part or all of your dues can be paid through fundraising (see first aid kits, below). The dues are how we pay for belt loops, patches, den flags and a small portion of the outreach we’re doing this year. This is in addition to national/council fees paid at membership renewal. Please let me know if you have any questions.

LAST CALL TO SELL FIRST AID KITS!

Money earned from selling first aid kits will count against pack dues.

Please plan to have all money from sales and left over kits to the pack by Wednesday, Oct. 30.

JACKSON BOTTOM WETLAND PLANTING

It’s time for our fall service project! We’ve had several nature walks at Jackson Bottom Wetlands – now we have a chance to give back. The Tualatin River Keepers are hosting a planting event 9am-noon, Saturday, Oct. 12.

Wear clothes appropriate for the weather and working outside. Bring your own gloves. Maybe a shovel; the event information isn’t clear.

Let me know if you register/participate so I can record it. This fulfills one of the citizenship adventure requirements.

WEBELOS/ARROW OF LIGHT WOODS

Oct. 18-20. The purpose of Webelos Woods is to serve as an opportunity for Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts to see Scouts BSA troops in action and participate in age-appropriate activities. Ideally, Webelos Woods will serve as a recruiting and retention tool for Cub Scouts aging out of the program. As a result of Webelos Woods, Scouts should better understand ethical outdoor behavior and demonstrate Scout Spirit through following the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Cub Scouts: Your registration fee includes lodging in our fabulous Adirondacks or mini-daks, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday, all of the activities, and a commemorative patch.

TRUNK OR TREAT/TRICK OR TREAT THE MERCHANTS

This is a great opportunity to be seen in the community. It would be great if everyone can take a turn handing out treats, so you can take your scouts trick or treating, too!

Saturday, Oct. 26:

1. Noon-4 p.m. Trunk or Treat at Forest Grove Senior and Community Center – We will set up a display and hand out candy.

2. 1-5pm Trick or Treat the Merchants – Derrick and Big Foot will help hand out treats at Holbrook Lodge

HAUNTED TRAILS

Sign up for a Spooky Haunted time at Butte Creek Scout Ranch. Camp for the night then float around to 6 different haunts to include Horse Back Riding, Shooting Sports, Pumpkin Carving and MORE!

Not a registered Cub Scout yet? NO Problem! Join us for a day of Spooky Scouting Fun (sorry, no overnight camping for those not registered).

WEBELOS MY COMMUNITY DAY

Nov. 16: Come join the Oswego Heritage Council as we discover democracy through the eyes of local history! You’ll participate in hands-on stations to experience stories from the past, delve into our new exhibit on Oregon democracy, and learn what it means when we say “gives goodwill.” Participants will complete all requirements for My Community. Adult Chaperones are required.

Please wear your Field Uniform.
